Going through chemo is an awful experience, and I couldn’t stop thinking about how for my cat it would be happening without their consent and without them having any idea what was going on or why, and still likely being pointless because cats just don’t do well with chemo treatment. My vet said the same thing. I kept returning to the fact that if I were in this situation, I would rather be put to sleep myself than go through that pain, sickness, and trauma.

So I picked that for the pet that I loved dearly. It was the right thing to do in my eyes. This just warms my heart.
